Wine: Quality dry white wine with an appellation of controlled origin produced from grapes grown in West Istria and bottled in 0.75 L bottles with screw caps. Vineyard: This wine was produced from grapes grown in the Kaligarići, Devići, Pajuhi and Pudarica vineyards at 50-150 m in elevation with S-SW and W exposure and covered in Istrian red soils. These wine-growing sites are sustaining balanced development of Malvazija Istarska, revealing flavour concentration representative of the variety. Variety: 100% malvasia istriana Harvest & vintage: The harvest started on August 20 and ended on September 10, 2012. The 2012 winter that followed the extremely challenging 2011 vintage, marked by small amounts of rain, was cold and dry, delaying bud break, affecting fruit sets and decreasing the overall crop load. The growing season was marked by low precipitation and high temperatures. That prompted picking as fruit reached early ripeness and small berries of Malvazija were ready to come off by the end of August. Despite the heat and drought Malvazija that was harvested is pleasantly aromatic, light, and fresh with good mineral content and moderate alcohol levels. Vinification: Grapes were harvested manually are cooled before processing. Stems were separated from the grapes preserving the skins and that was followed by a brief cold maceration or fast processing without maceration, fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 14- 16 °C, and ageing on fine lees (sur lie) for four months without malolactic fermentation. Maturation: The wine was aged in stainless steel tanks, bottled in 0.75 L bottles with screw caps after four months and stored bottled for a month. Cellaring: This wine should be drunk right away or stored in a cool and dry place for up to two years. Tasting notes: Brilliant, yellow colour with green nuances, characteristic floral and fruity aromas with notes of stone fruit, apple and tropical fruit; fresh, balanced, elegant and flavourful with a medium-long and pleasant finish. Best served chilled at 10-12 °C with light starters, pasta, risotto, truffles, white meat, fish or seafood; Alc. 12.7 %vol.
